Compensation Consultation Roadshows in South Northants.
Having attended both the Chipping Warden and Brackley Roadshows for the Compensation Consultation in South Northants, my opinion is that they were an abysmal failure with only 98 people at Chipping Warden attending and just over 70 at Brackley.
The reason for this very low turnout which even HS2 Ltd agreed was low, was that the events were not well advertised, or were not advertised at all to ALL for those that will be affected by HS2.
When questions were asked by those that attended they either could not get an answer other than put it on your Compensation Consultation response to HS2 Ltd, or they were informed that they would if within the 60 mtrs receive full compensation plus 10%, but if in the 120 Mtr from the track just the value of the property with NO compensation. Those outside the 120 mtr would at present receive nothing till the new EHS was introduced and even then this would still have the 15% rule in so that property values are already reduced by the 15% plus the fact if you cannot sell within 12 months there is at present no apparent solution to what one would do next?
The staff were pleasant and that is about all one can say, but the information available is sketchy because HS2 Ltd do not yet know and at times unacceptable.
It is essential for Everyone including friends and relatives to fill in the response cards to try and force the Government to make the Compensation such that no one will lose because they are affected by HS2. If you do not have the response cards that have been circulated round most Of S Northants with the exception of Brackley as there is a reluctance by the Town Council to get involved in fighting for fair compensation, then please visit the following site where there is an on line form you can use, or one you can print out and send for free. http://www.hs2actionalliance.org/
It is down to you to make a difference and to push this Government into treating those that have had their lives turned upside down by HS2 Ltd and this Government, to get what they are entitled to and that is a No VALUE LOSS on their property because of HS2.
