SNAG to meet with County & District councillors tomorrow.

Three members of the SNAG group are to meet with members of the County and District councils on the 26th of Nov. We will be asking questions about the how the council is making a full and balanced evaluation of the ways in which HS2 would impact on the county.

This will include: assessing whether in fact there would be ANY real benefits to the county, how the £33billion cost would affect public spending cuts, and conducting a proper appraisal of the various forms of blight that would be experienced.
David Cameron's Daily Telegraph article today (see other News items) has thrust this matter to the top of the county's news agenda, and we expect the councillors will want to show a more open and balanced response to this matter than the PM has.
