Northants HS2 Blight Corridor report

At a recent liaison meeting with the county council, SNAG lobbied for an assessment of the number of properties (domestic & business) within various bands either side of the proposed HS2 Route 3 (original & optimised). Having agreed to do the work, the results were produced swiftly by the council technical team using the methodology developed by Bucks. County Council. A lot of pressure for this work to be conducted came from the HS2 Action Alliance group which is preparing for the forthcoming consultation activity; they believe it is essential to understand the true numbers involved.

The results can be seen on our Property Blight page and you will notice that the number within a few hundred meters of the line is several hundred properties. If however, the zone considered is increased to 1000 meters of the line (still within the noise affected zone) the number rises dramatically to just under 2000!

If you think you will be affected by this, why not write to your county & district councillors and tell them so?
